Botanicals Pot & Print 20th June 2026 11am - 1.30pm

£55.00

Following our successful joint inspired workshops POT & PRINT, we are BACK! Amanda Silk & Georgia Watkins from Patience Studio collaboration.

For this workshop we combine and experiment with photo print making practices and ceramic techniques.

What is a cyanotype?

Cyanotype is a photographic process, produced without the use of a camera, but with the light of the sun. It can be explored with many materials, including paper, fabric and ceramics.

What will I be doing on this workshop?

In this exciting session, we will be experimenting with flowers and botanicals to create beautiful pieces of artwork! You will be guided through two processes with two different tutors; Georgia leading you through printmaking, and Amanda through ceramics. Both tutors will use the cyanotype process to explore their individual mediums to create imagery onto different surfaces. Once you have learnt the basics of the process on paper, you will continue to develop ideas onto fired clay.

In addition, you will have the opportunity to take your collected botanicals and impress this into the clay surface which can be used to construct a small lidded trinket box.

Whilst we will provide some botanicals, we recommend you also bring some along to enhance the individuality of your piece. You will each need around a small bouquet’s worth of flowers/stems. We advise you to bring a range of natural found materials, including hedgerow flowers, herbs, ivy, daisies.. We encourage you to experiment and take inspiration from the things around you. The process works best when created with materials that are thinner and more translucent, but variation will create interest in your piece.

What’s included?

  • Teaching from 2 expert tutors

  • 2 handmade prints

  • 2 ceramic cyanotype tiles

  • Handmade ceramic trinket box, fired and glazed (collection in 4-6 weeks)

  • Refreshments and biscuits
