Troika-Inspired Vase Workshop Amanda Silk Ceramics
Garden Studio Pottery Experience
Discover the bold, sculptural world of Troika Pottery in this hands-on ceramics workshop, set in my peaceful garden studio. Inspired by the iconic Cornish pottery studio founded in the 1960s by Leslie Illsley, Benny Sirota, and Jan Thompson, this workshop invites you to explore form, texture, and pattern in a relaxed and creative setting.
What You’ll Do
During this workshop, you’ll design and create your own Troika-inspired vase, experimenting with: Sculptural, wheel-inspired forms, hand-built construction techniques, custom-made stamps for surface texture, bold geometric patterns using lines, circles, and abstract shapes.
You’ll be guided throughout the process, with plenty of freedom to develop your own unique interpretation.
About the Style
Troika pottery is known for its architectural shapes and striking surface design. The name “Troika,” meaning “three” in Russian, reflects the three founding artists and their shared creative vision. This session focuses on capturing the spirit of Troika—playful, expressive, and graphic—rather than copying exact pieces.
Who It’s For
Anyone interested in design, texture, and creative experimentation.
No prior ceramics experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore the Experience.
Held in my intimate garden studio, this workshop offers a calm and inspiring environment to slow down and enjoy the process of making.
All materials, tools, and firings are included. Your finished vase will be glazed and ready for collection at a later date.
To Book Your Place, please email me for availability.
Spaces are limited to keep the experience personal and supportive.
Refreshments and aprons provided.
